what do i need to become a mental health counselor?

okay so heres the deal,

i wish to turn the mental illness advisor
and i looked report up as well as it says
i can possibly get the bachelors grade in:
counseling,psychology,education,sociology, or amicable work.
and i chose psychology as well as it says it would take 4 years.
and it pronounced i would need possibly the masters grade or the doctorate degree
and i consider i would collect doctorate degree.

how most years would which take, as well as greatfully discuss it me if my report is incorrect
or if i need to shift something.

    A Masters is a Bachelors degree + 2 years. (6 total)
    A PhD is Bachelors + Masters + about 3 years. (about 9 total)

    Your information is right; you’ll need at least the Masters degree.

    Here is something to reckon about. After you spend all that time and money getting educated as a mental health counselor, how much are you going to earn as a counselor or a social worker. (Squat). Spend two years getting an Associate Degree in nursing (RN) and get a job as a psych nurse and earn way more money with a 2 year degree RN than you will ever earn as a counselor or social worker.
